Valentia Royal Rose Hydrating Serum

Winter really did a number on my skin and now that we’re into spring, I’m realizing that I need to rethink my beauty regime a little. I’ve been looking for a heavy duty moisturizer for a while, but something that didn’t feel like medicine or crisco on my face. Enter the Valentia Royal Rose Serum.

This product has been a game changer for me. After just a few uses, my skin was smoother and more even. After a couple of weeks the dry patches completely disappeared. I love anything rose, but this really takes it to the next level. It has an amazing scent, but it also has a soothing effect when applied to the skin. It has also helped to balance out the inflammation and redness I get on my face from my Lupus.

I’ve been a long-time fan of Valentia, and I’m really impressed by this new addition. The packaging is sturdy, making it great for travel. The product is also alcohol and paraben free, leaving just good ingredients to work their magic on your skin. I would strongly recommend checking this product out!

You can buy Valentia on Amazon and find out more about the brand on their website

Hask Mint Almond Oil Thickening Hair Care Collection

I love Hask hair products. They’ve been my go-to for a while now and they recently sent me their Mint Almond Oil Thickening Hair Care Collection to share with you.

The collection consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and root thickening spray. Guys! I can’t even tell you how much I love this set. First off, it smells a-maz-ing. I wasn’t sure about mint almond when I first heard it, but it has this cool, refreshing scent that leaves your hair smelling great all day.

As for the thickening, I was impressed. I naturally have pretty thick hair so I usually stay away from products like this, but due to some health issues my hair has thinned out over the last year or so. This product helps revive it back to what it looked like prior to it thinning. It give your hair some beautiful volume and the root thickening spray livens up flat roots near the scalp. A little bit of these products and a good blow dry, and you’ve got hair that could make beauty queens jealous. Just kidding! But it really does liven up your locks.

Another great set from Hask and if it hits on your hair care issues, I highly recommend trying it out.

Raw Spirit Perfume

I am always on the lookout for a new perfume. It’s such an easy thing to change up from day to day, but can really impact the way you feel. When Raw Spirit reached out to me to try one of their signature scents, I jumped at the chance.

The perfume they scent me to try was a rollerball of their Desert Blush. This perfume is wonderful in a way that’s hard to convey over the internet. It has a warm and spicy scent that has just a hint of floral to give it some sweetness. This scent is the perfect vacation scent and it’s already on the packing list for our trip to Mexico in November (if it lasts that long!).

The perfumes themselves are an amazing quality. The scents last all day on the skin, so you don’t have to waste product reapplying. I also appreciate the brand itself. Raw Spirit celebrates using natural ingredients sourced from around the world and this mission is clearly reflected the second you take a sniff of their product.

The company also works with Indigenous and marginalized communities, either directly or through partnerships, to sustainably source rare and unique natural ingredients for their fragrances. From these ingredients they create high quality, luxury fragrances that not only smell incredible—they also create economic opportunities for the communities from which we source. This is absolutely a company that I can stand behind.

If you’ve never heard of Raw Spirit, I encourage you to check them out. They have a Discovery Set where for $20 you can try out 6 of their scents to figure out which one is best for you. Me? I’m sticking with Desert Blush.

StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner Review

Strivectin Pore RefinerI count myself pretty lucky when it comes to skin concerns, but my pores have always posed a bit of an issue and I haven’t found much that’s improved the situation. I was excited to hear that iFabbo had partnered up with StriVectin to sample their Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner. I’m always game to try a new product, especially when it’s a one step multitasker like this one.

For a little background on the product, the StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner is intended for daily use. It is a lightweight lotion that claims to minimize pores and contain anti-aging and moisturizing properties. The main purposes of this product are to reduce the appearance of pores, refine skin texture, control shine and absorb excess oil, and hyrdrate the skin.

I’ve been using this product for a couple of months now and I can honestly say that this product delivered for me. I have seen a quite noticeable difference in the size of my pores. They are much smaller and refined, leaving my complexion smoother.I also have skin that is on the more sensitive side and did not have difficulties using this product daily. One of the great thing about this reduction in pore size, is the way that makeup and other skincare products apply. You get a cleaner, smoother finish.

Overall, I highly recommend this product if you have skin care issues similar to mine. I think you’ll get a lot of bang out of a little bit of product. It is a bit on the pricier side coming in at $99, but a little goes a long way and I think it’s a solid investment.

Keranique Clean & Condition Hair Care Set Review

Screen Shot 2016-01-04 at 9.29.48 PM

My hair stylist is constantly reminding me about the importance that my shampoo and conditioner play in the health of my hair (read: Dana stop buying the 79¢ stuff). So when iFabbo reached out with the opportunity to try Keranique, I thought it would be an opportunity to see if this is the right fit for my daily routine. I ended up being split on the set.

The Keranique Clean & Condition Hair Care Set is meant to stimulate the scalp, including the hair follicles, and increase strength, volume, and thickness. The set runs for $49.95 for both products and comes with a bonus detangling comb. I would say that used properly, there is easily a two month supply in the bottles. The main active ingredient in these products is the Keratin Amino Complex that works to condition the hair without creating build up or weighing it down.

I’ve been using this set for a while now and I’ve found that I’m a bit split. I really enjoy the scalp stimulating shampoo and find that it leaves my hair clean and silky without drying it out. However, I’m not as big a fan of the conditioner. To me it was a bit on the heavier side, and while it didn’t leave a build up, I didn’t get quite the same styling hold after using. I will say that I do have thick hair to begin with, so I am probably not 100% the target market for the conditioner and I can definitely see it working well for someone with finer hair.

Additionally, I was impressed by the clean sent and the ergonomic packaging. Overall, I think it’s a quality product, just not the right fit for me.

You can find out more about the Keranique brand on their website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
